Bob and Karen met in seminary in Michigan. After getting married in 1984, Bob began ministry as a youth pastor. It was during this time that their daughter Elyssa was born in 1989. In 1991, they answered the call to be missionaries in Spain, where Karon had grown up.
It was during this time that two more children were born. Today, Elyssa is a missionary, Daniel is a doctor, and Jonathan is a harpist who has played several times with the Puerto Rican symphony.
In 2002, they moved to Puerto Rico to continue their ministry. In May 2003, they started the church in their home. The church was growing and moved to the new temple in 2012. Over time, they also started an English-language service.
Although they have had a hard job, they have been able to enjoy having an incredible family. A family founded in Christ. Of which, they have been able to see the fruit in their three wonderful grandchildren, Alyana, Sebastian, and Zoey.
Bob has been characterized by his famous phrase: Why do you go to heaven?
Luis and Angie met in 2014 in the beautiful country of Colombia. A couple of years later they made their relationship official, got married in Puerto Rico in 2020 and serve the Lord together.
Luis is the fruit of missionary work in Puerto Rico. The Lord Jesus saved him at the age of 14 and, since then, he has lived telling the Gospel, wanting everyone to know him. After several years, he understood that God was calling him to serve Him, so he took ministerial studies. Since 2014, he has worked in various ministries with an evangelistic focus and served churches in the Western world.
Angie is also the fruit of missions in Colombia. She was saved by the grace of the Lord Jesus at the age of 19. She immediately began serving in various ministries of the local church. Then she understood that God wanted to do even more with her life, so she came to Puerto Rico to prepare for the ministry. She finished her studies in 2020 and today she serves alongside her husband.
We believe in One Supreme Creator God, existing in three persons, the Creator of the material universe who spoke it into existence from nothing. This God is morally perfect, completely sovereign, unchallengeably powerful, overwhelmingly loving and compassionate, and infinite in knowledge and wisdom by which He has created His plan for the ages.
We believe that God has revealed Himself through the world, but more importantly through two special revelations of Himself; the God-Man Jesus Christ (the living Word) and the Bible (the written Word). All other truth is measured against these two standards.
We believe that God created humankind in His image and likeness and required that we be morally perfect like Him, which we failed to do from the beginning. Since that time all have been sinners by nature and do not naturally seek after Him.
We believe that our sinful nature and deeds have relationally separated us from God. Each human is an eternal creature, and if not reconciled to God during this life, the separation from God and judgment will continue for eternity.
We believe that we cannot be forgiven or reconciled to God through good works or even religious works, no matter how devout. We are hopeless without God reaching out to rescue us.
God loves us as His special creatures and came to us in the person of Jesus Christ at the perfect time in human history. Jesus lived a sinless life and died in our place, paying the death penalty for our sin. But Jesus defeated sin, death, and hell by rising again on the third day. He returned to heaven, and at another perfect time will return to earth, not as a suffering Savior but as a conquering King.
Reconciliation to God and salvation from the coming judgment is offered to us as a gracious gift, paid for by God Himself through Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. God’s gift is received by turning away from our old worldview, sins, and wrong ideas and accepting His gift by faith.
